Priya is a recent graduate of the University of Washington School of Public Health where she completed an MPH in Health Services with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health. Prior to joining GHS, Priya worked for the Graduate Opportunities and Minority Achievement Program at the University of Washington, recruiting, supporting, and advocating for underrepresented minority graduate students. She also spent time interning at the Louisiana Bureau of Family Health, assisting with the state assessment of Title V funded programming.
As a 2012 Teach for America corps member, Priya spent two years teaching at a Head Start program in Las Vegas, NV. While teaching, Priya earned her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Priya also graduated from Boston College in 2012 with a BA in psychology and a minor in Faith, Peace, and Justice with a Public Health concentration. During this time, Priya worked as a Communications and Advocacy Associate for the Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, where she assisted in the launch of The Lancet Stillbirth Series and preparations for the 64th World Health Assembly. Following this, Priya worked in programming and development for the London-based Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, an international organization working to empower women entrepreneurs in emerging economies.
