Dr. Neeraj Agrawal, M.D is a physician and epidemiologist, with Masters in Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM) and Diploma in Public Health (DPH). He has more than ten years of field experience, working in the most challenging conditions in culturally and socially diverse settings. He has mostly worked for immunization programs with roles including management of complex partnerships, interface with government counter-parts and leading multiple state teams.

After completing his post-graduate training, he worked with WHO Polio Eradication Initiative with National Polio Surveillance Project (NPSP) for more than three and half years. Initially he worked in 8 districts of Uttar Pradesh and later in Mumbai as Surveillance Medical Officer, leading the polio eradication activities. While working with UNICEF Bihar as Health Officer (Immunization), he was instrumental in planning and implementation of “Muskaan..Ek Abhiyan”, an intervention package that helped Bihar state dramatically boost its immunization coverage. Working with PATH, Neeraj managed the ‘Saving Children’s Lives Through Immunization’ (SCLTI) project in Madhya Pradesh as team leader. Later he was with USAID/MCHIP, providing leadership and technical assistance to state and union governments for strengthening routine immunization. Prior to joining GHS, he was working with Chengdu Institute of Biological Products (CDIBP). As Medical Advisor, he provides technical assistance in coordination with PATH, to government of India and state governments for Japanese Encephalitis vaccination. He has also been a part of the ‘for-profit’ sector while working with Indegene Lifesystems and McCann Healthcare as team leader / medical advisor.

Neeraj has extensive field experience and has immense understanding of the governmental health systems and programs. Though his areas of interest are immunization, child health and field epidemiology, he is passionate about his work in the field of vaccines and immunization. His aspiration is to contribute to making vaccines and immunization accessible to all children in India.
