Leah Sandals is a Director at Global Health Strategies. Since she joined GHS in March 2013, she has led communications and advocacy projects on issues including women's health and family planning, universal health coverage and polio eradication. In addition to her account work, she focuses on developing GHS’s social media and digital strategy.
Leah came to GHS from President Obama's re-election campaign, where she developed and managed digital communications and online engagement strategies for key constituency groups including Women for Obama and LGBT Americans for Obama.
Previously, Leah served as a consultant to major national and international cultural organizations at the strategic communications firm Resnicow Schroeder Associates. In this role, she planned and implemented communications campaigns for clients including the Apollo Theater, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, and The Israel Museum, Jerusalem. She was also Communications Associate at Homes for the Homeless, a non-profit serving New York City’s homeless families. Leah is a co-founder of the Brooklyn-based food company SlantShack Jerky, and led the development of communications and digital strategies to establish the brand and build the start-up into a growing business with national recognition.
Leah graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University, with a B.A. in Anthropology and Spanish.
