Diêgo Lôbo has a degree in Communications with a major in Public Relations from the Bahia State University (UNEB) and an MA in Media Practice for Development and Social Change from the University of Sussex in the UK. Prior to joining GHS, Diêgo worked as a Communications and Fundraising Officer for five years at CESE, a grant-making organization supporting grassroots initiatives and the promotion of human rights. He was also part of the management team of the MDGs award-winner Action for Children Program, an international cooperation between organizations from Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, India and the Netherlands.
While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Diêgo interned at the Soul City Institute for Health and Development Communication in South Africa, supporting their online communication strategy. Over the past few years, he has worked at both the local and international levels for environmental projects with organizations such as the European Journalism Centre (EJC), 350.org, Global Justice Now and Global Call for Climate Action (GCCA). He has strong interests in environmental issues, activism and international development.
